DR. FRANCESCA VELASCO
EDUCATION...

Dr Francesca Velasco graduated from Dental School at the University Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela in 2002.

She also completed a General Dentistry Residency at LSU Health Science Center, specializing in treating medical compromise patients; such as those suffering with Cancer and chronic diseases; also patients undergoing Chemotherapy, Radiation, Dialysis and Organ Transplants.

During her residency she acquired advance training with patients with motor and cognitive syndromes.

She finished her program as the Chief Resident for the General Dentistry Department at Charity Hospital New Orleans, LSU Health Science Center
DR. VELASCO & COMMUNITY
Dr Velasco is specifically proud of her involvement with the New Orleans community; were she has partnered with the New Orleans Musicians Clinic; providing dental care to our talented musicians; The Common Ground Clinic; where she offers dental care at lower costs for uninsured patients; and The Dental Donated Services; where she donates her services to provide free Treatment to handicapped patients; suffering with motor and mental syndromes.
ORTHODONTICS
Dr Velasco initiated her advance training in orthodontics with Dr. Gene Dongieux; well known orthodontist of New Orleans; almost 6 years ago. She purchased Dr. Dongieux's New Orleans (West Bank) Orthodontic practice in December 2007 and is currently his formal associate at his Metairie (East Bank) orthodontic office Dr. Velasco continues her training in dentistry and orthodontics by attending routinely continuing education courses locally and in other states such as Florida, California and internationally.
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
Dr. Velasco is a member of the American Dental Association; Louisiana Dental Association; New Orleans Dental Association; Hispanic Dental Association; International Association for Orthodontics and Colegio de Odontologos of Venezuela.
HURRICANE KATRINA
Dr Velasco played an instrumental role in the recovery of the havoc of Katrina. She played a pivotal part in the rebuilding of the city fulfilling her leadership role within Charity Hospital Dental Division.
